Effect of Processing Quality of Glass on Interface Defects Between Core and Cladding of Active Glass FiberLIN Da-yuan,YANG Gang-feng,DENG Zai-de,YIN Bing,ZHANG Qin-yuan(Key Laboratory of Specially Functional Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Technology of Ministry of Education,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510640,China)By imitating fiber drawing with glass sheets and adopting orthogonal test, the effect of optical processing quality on microdefects of interface between core and cladding of rare earth doped glass fiber was investigated. The results showed that the better optical processing quality can improve the interfaces between core and cladding.Compared with core glass, the effect of optical processing quality of cladding glass on interface defects was more evident when its viscosity at drawing temperature was higher than that of core glass.According to the analyses, the optical processing condition for obtaining perfect interface was suggested.active glass fiber;perform;processing quality;interface defect
