Thermal Decomposition of Calcium Carbonate Containing Organic AcidsMA Bao-guo,XU Li,LI Xiang-guo,KE Kai,WAN Xue-feng (Key Laboratory for Silicate Materials Science and Engineering of Ministry of Education,Wuhan University of Technology,Wuhan 430070,China)The thermal decomposition of calcium carbonate was an important chemical reaction for decomposition of cement raw meal, decomposition of which accounts for about 60% of the heat consumption of cement clinker.By means of thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),influence of organic acids such as citric acid, oxalic acid and tartaric acid on the thermal decomposition process of calcium carbonate was investigated in non-isothermal condition. It is indicated that the decomposition process of calcium carbonate containing different organic acids included three or four weight loss processes. In the zone of 370—450 ℃,energy released due to the combustion of organic products decomposed from organic salts, and energy increases with the increase of molecular weight of organic acid.calcium carbonate;thermogravimetric analysis; thermal decomposition;organic acid
