Abstract

Application of Rectorite Composite Flocculant in Oil Paint Wastewater Treatment ZENG De-fang,MA Jia-yi,LI Juan, YUAN Ji-zu (School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan 430070,China)This paper researched the effect of treating oil paint wastewater using modified rectorite-amylose composite flocculant. The best prescription of this composite flocculant is rectorite:amylose=20∶1(w/w), and its best dosage is 80 mg· L~-1 modified rectorite and 4 mg·L~-1 amylose. Treating oil paint wastewater using this composite flocculant, the removal rates of COD,SS and coloring matter were 43.1%,6.4% and 22.6% higher than those of PAC, and were 19.1%,3.4% and 21.8% higher than PAM; on the other hand its cost to treating one ton wastewater were 16.85% and 30.7% less than that of PAC and PAM respectively, and the quality of treated oil paint wastewater met the natinal drainage standard. So this composite flocculant is of the characteristics of good quality, less cost and environmental friendship, and it will have the impotant applying value in oil paint wasterwater treatment.modified rectorite; composite flocculant; oil paint wasterwate; water treatment
