FEM Formulation of Nonlinear Pulse Wave Propagation in Arteries Xie Guanmo Zhang Guanghui Chang XiaonianBased on previous researches a new theoretical model of nonlinear pulse wave propagation in arteries was presented in reference. Taking account of the viscosity of arteries and the delamination between blood plasma and red blood cell, the non dimensional governing differential equations of the fluid structure coupling system comprised of blood, arteries and their surrounding tissues were derived.
