An Improvement on the Property of NiAl Intermetallic Compound Wang Weimin; Yuan Runzhang; Min Xinmin (Dr.,Advanced Material Research,WUT,Wuhan 430070,China.)The NiAl intermetallic compound and its alloy were prepared by Self-reaction High-temperature Synthesis technology and powder metallurgy technique. The room temperature property of materials was mearsured by three poim bending and compression. The results indicated that the strength of NiAl materials was increased obviously and the room-temperature plasticity wasn't improved by the addition of boron, howeve,the room-temperature plasticity was improved by the addition of iron. The character of chemistry bond of alloyed NiAl was calculated by Self-consistant discrete Variational Xα methods.
