Abstract

Mechanical Properties of Ni_3Al-TiC Composites Synthesized by SHS-Melting Process Mei Bingchu;Yuan Runzhang;Wang Weimin Advanced Materials Research InstituteNi_3Al-TiC composites were prepared by an advanced process (SHS--Melting Process). The properties of the materials are very good,the high-temperature bending strength σ_(1000℃) =788MPa, σ_(1100℃)=526MPa, and fracture toughness k_(IC)=56MPa m~(1/2). The microstructure of the materials were studied with X-ray diffraction and Electronic Porbe technique. The results show that TiC particles are fine(about 3μm),and statistically uniformly disperse in Ni_3Al matrix.
