Research on SRIM Process of Continuous Strand Mat/Polyurethane CompositesTANG Hong-yan1,WANG Ji-hui1,ZHANG Lin-wen2,XU Peng-yao3 (1.School of Materials Science and Engineering,Wuhan University of Technology,Wuhan 430070,China;2.Beijing Fiber Reinforced Polymer Academy,Beijing 102101,China;3.China Unicom Dongguan,Dongguan 523000,China)SRIM was used to produce continuous glass strand mat reinforced polyurethane(PU) composites.The process of SRIM was researched through modeling and experimental aspects.A second order Arrhenius equation described PU polymerization kinetics.The kinetic model was established by using the kinetic data which were obtained from the adiabatic temperature rise measurement.The viscosity model of PU polymerization was developed by using Brookfield rheometer data.Darcy's law described PU flow behavior within the mold.The pressure rise profiles at the inlet were measured during filling,which coincided well with the simulation results when the pressure was less than 0.4 MPa.polyurethane;structural reaction injection molding(SRIM);continuous strand mat;permeability
