Preparation of Hyperbranched Epoxy Resin by One-pot Process and Their PerformanceZHANG Dao-hong,JIA De-min(School of Materials Science and Engineering,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510641,China)This paper reports on the synthesis of liquid hyperbranched aromatic polyester epoxy resin HTDE-3 by one-pot method and the hybrid composite of HTDE-3 and diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A(DGEBA).The mechanical performance of the hybrid resin was studied and the effect of HTDE-3 content on the cured system was discussed in detail.It was shown that,the content of HTDE-3 had important effect on the performance of the cured system,and the performance of the HTDE-3/DGEBA blends had maximum with the increase of HTDE-3 content.The impact strength and fracture toughness of the cured system with 12% HTDE-3 were almost 3.1 and 1.7 times of DGEBA performance respectively.Furthermore,the tensile and flexural strength can be enhanced respectively about 20.0% and 15.6%,and maximum fracture toughness of the hybrid resins was more than 3.12 kPa·m~(1/2).FT-IR,SEM and molecular simulation technology were used to study the structure of HTDE-3, performance and toughness and strength improvement mechanism of the HTDE-3/DGEBA hybrid resin.hyperbranched epoxy resin;synthesis;toughness;mechanism;molecular simulation
