The Methodology and Mechanism Analysis of Stearic Acid-modified Attapulgite Reinforcing Polyurethane LeatherJIN Ye-ling~1,CHEN Jing~2,QIAN Yuan-hua~2 (1.Department of Materials Engineering,Nanjing University of Technology,Nanjing 210094,China;2.Department of Chemical Engineering,Huaiyin Institute of Technology,Huaian,223001,China)The tensile strength of polyurethane leather filled with stearic acid-modified attapulgite can reach radial 153 N,latitudinal 156 N,the tearing strength of it can achieve redial 38 N,latitudinal 57 N.The extension ratio at treak can reach radial 335%,latitudinal 120%,which is about 18.6 times and 2.9 times as big as the samply with no filling agent, about 8.5 times and 3.2 times as big as the sample filled with light calcium carbonate, about 14 times and 2.5 times as big as the sample filled with heat treatment attapugite, respectively. All performance data of polyurethane leather exceed QB 1646-92 request after filled 10% attapulgite modified with 1% stearic acid or filled 10% attapulgite dealt with simple heat treatment, and the performance of attapulgite modified with stearic acid is better than that with simple heat treatment. The SEM show that both of attapulgite and its impurity dolomite after modified with stearic acid can uniformly and compatibly disperse in polyurethane leather.Thermogrzavimetric analyzer(TGA)and FT-IR spectrum indicated the interaction between attapulgite and polyurethane leather enhanced by stearic acid is the main factor for thermodynamic and mechanical performance improvement of the polyurethane leather.stearic acid;attapulgite;polyurethane leather
