School of Water Resources and Hydropower, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China)The moment-curvature curve of the RC beam strengthened with CFRP was presumed the idealized three-segment line, under which the calculation method of stiffness of the strengthened beam was promoted here. Based on the foundation of the equation of force, the equation of stress-strain and the geometric equation of material, the stiffness of the strengthened beam at each joint and the ultimate failure point on the three-segment line can be calculated, then the stiffness of beam at any point can be evaluated respectively through the linear rule of each segment, by which the load-deflection curve of the strengthened beam can be obtained.carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP); reinforced concrete (RC) beam; strengthening; stiffness;calculation method
