Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis on Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with CFRP Wei Wenhui Zhuo BoThe RC members strengthened with externally bonded carbon fiber sheets are studied with nonlinear finite element analysis method. The discount of the tangential stiffness due to crack propagation in concrete is taken into account. In addition, the slip behavior of the sheet-to-concrete bonded joints and the steel-to-concrete joints is considered. It's shown that the predicted values by this analysis method have a close agreement with the experimental observations. So, this method is feasible and available in practical application, which can greatly reduce labour cost and other cost compared with experimental analysis method.fiber sheets; reinforced concrete; nonlinear finite element
