Study on Integrated Design System of Mechanic Products Oriented on Rapid Response Engineering Chen Manyi Chen DingfangStudent for Ph. D., Institute of Intelligent Manufacture & Control, WUT, Wuhan 430063, China.Rapid response design is a new manufacture paradigm which comes into being in recent years. It aims to shorten developing period, improve quality of product and increase strength of rapid response to market on the part of industrial enterprises. This paper introduces basic strategies of rapid response design at first. Then, a general framework for integrated design system to support rapid product design is presented and described. At last, several key enabling technologies, namely product data management, case based design, design for cost, virtual design and collaborative design are discussed in detail.
