Research into Influence of Portland CementClinker on the Properties of Sulfoaluminate Cement Wang HongThe author of this paper investigated some properties of the sulfoalum- inate cement which was prepared by grinding of sulfoaluminate cement clinker, gypsum and portland cement clinker. The results of testing show that the cement properties are evidently influenced by adding appropriate amount of portland cement clinker. That is the compresive strength of the early stage and thermal stabiolity of cement setting time and free-expensibility Can be adjusted by controlling the amounts of portland cement clinker and gypsum. The author studied the reasons why the compressive strength and the- rmal stability increase by means of X-ray diffraction analysis, differential theamal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, mercury penetration method, thermal expansion determination and so on. we have found out that the addition of portland cement clinker reduces the size of ettringite crystal and the porosity of hardened cement paste and increases the denseness of the cement-stone structure. The size of ettringite crystal decreases when the Ca(OH)_2concentration of hydration liquid phase in hardened cement paste increases. The denseness of the hardened cement paste is discussed from its condensing structure. The zeta potentials of ettringite crystal and calcium silicate hydrate were measured. In the case of own experiments, the former is positive, and the latter is negative. Owing to the Van der waals force and the attractive fore provided by diverse zeta potentials between ettringite and calcium silicate hydrate being identical in orientation, the condensing force increases, thus the denseness of paste structure increases. This conclusion was also confi- rmed by measuring light transmission coefficient data on cement suspensions. The result shows that portland cement clinker increases the light transmis- sion coefficient of sulfoaluminate cement early strength cement. In order to increase the density of the paste structure, the hydrates with diverse zeta potentials must be corresponded with each other during eary hydration period. The thermal stability of hardened cement pasts depends on the size and distribution of the ettringite crystals. The thermal expension coefficient data shows that portland cement clinker decreases the thermal expension coeffic- ient of sulfoaluminate cement.
